A lot of users want to create more traffic to their page. There are a few options on how to do this. One, is to register with the search engines. Below is a link for example to submit your URL to Google's Search Engine. Another option is to go into relevant forums for your type of page and post your URL there as well as add your URL to your signature for both forums and, if you want, email. This will both spread the URL to people seeing your signature and raise your search rankings. The last option, mainly if you are trying to sell items using your page, would be to buy some Google or Yahoo ads linking back to your URL. These are just a few basic ideas to get started driving more traffic to your page.
To change the title to your site, go to www.homepagenow.com and log-in at the top right of the screen. Then click the 'myhomepageNOW' tab. Inside of that screen, expand "Manage my homepages" then click settings. Here you can change the title to your page.
Tagging photos creates a nice look for your album by organizing pictures in a simple yet elegant way. And it is also very easy to do. After uploading your pictures, click 'comments' under a photo you want to tag. Here you can enter up to 25 tags for this picture. A tag can be anything you want. Some ideas would be the location of the photo, the people who are in the photo, or possibly the date it was taken.
Once you have entered a tag, they will be saved so when you tag other photos, you will not always have to re-type a tag, but merely click on the archived tags to add them to the photo. Once finished, go back to your album page and click "Filter by Tag" to see how they look.
To show visitors which tags have the most media to them, the tag becomes bigger in the list based on how many tags there are in the album. And to make organization and linking to specifically tagged albums even better, say you have 20 photos tagged from California you want to link to on a blog or send to friends but don't want them to go to the main album and then have to filter, merely go to your photo gallery and copy the main part of the URL. It would look something like this: http://yourURL.com/my_gallery.shtml?Then add 'filter=california' at the end.
This will make blog entries and other linking to your specific photos a lot better looking and create a more professional look. Also, this creates new albums for every tag with photos and other media being able to be in multiple albums by having multiple tags thus creating a more intuitive media album feature than just standard "Here is my album from Germany and here is another from Disney World". What if you wanted an album with all lake pictures from all your albums? Or an album of just pictures of you, your kids, or family? Tagging makes this option easy and your album and webpage a lot better looking. Hope this helps.
A lot of members go straight to their homepage to edit without ever going to the 'myhomepagenow' area, however they miss a lot of options. To see these additional options, log in at the top right of www.homepagenow.com then click the 'myhomepageNOW' tab. Here, when managing your pages, you can hide pages you do not use, edit the main graphic and colors of your page, fix the title of your page or your blogger name and many other options that will make your page look better. And, if sadly you want to delete your page, you can do this here.
If you are selling something using your homepageNOW site, we want to make accepting payment easy. Currently we do not allow a pay option but we can help you link to PayPal easily. Here you will have to link to the Paypal site and the user will have to login to their account then send money to your registered Paypal email address.
Add this text to your site: [http://www.paypal.com Pay Here]
Remember to add the email address or Paypal username you want them to pay you at. If you want to change 'Pay Here', all you need is a space after the .com and before the brackets. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions on how better to display goods or link to your PayPal area, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Are you a charity and want to accept donations? This can be done quite easily. After registering with Paypal as a charitable organization, you can link to your account from your homepageNOW website to make accept donations easy. Just follow these simple instructions.
Then, follow the instructions to create your organization's link but it is a MUST that you click 'no' at the bottom to 'Encrypt Button'.
The next screen will include a Button AND an Email link. Please copy the E-mail Link and paste it to your homepageNOW page where you would like to link to donations. The best way to display this would be entering the link in the following way:
[https://the_copied_link Donate via PAYPAL]
This will only display the text 'Donate via PAYPAL' and automatically redirect people to your PAYPAL donation site. Let's get those donations started!
